ISRAEL FOSS
Israel happened upon dance while pursuing a career in a cello performance at the Natomas Charter School of Performing and Fine Arts. He began taking modern dance classes and his interest was piqued. True inspiration though, came to him when he saw Jacob Montoya’s lead performance in the 2012 showing of “The Doorway” and the prospect of dance as a profession began to form. Modern led to ballet, and by the end of that year Israel was dancing ten hours a week between school and outside studios. By his sophomore year of high school, he had transitioned to Hawkins School of Performing Arts, where he began to study full-time in contemporary, jazz and ballet. In 2014, Israel joined the award-winning Hawkins Contemporary Jazz Company (HCJC) Elite team and was featured as a guest member in the Hawkins Ballet Company’s productions of “Coppélia and "Cinderella." Israel joined the Sacramento Ballet’s Regional Dance America team while apprenticing with Sacramento Contemporary Dance Theatre. Israel is pursuing his career in dance performance and choreography at University of California, Irvine.
