Choreographer's Initiative 2016

Sacramento Contemporary Dance Theatre in conjunction with Hawkins School of Performing Arts presented the first annual Choreographer's Initiative on January 23, 2016.  The goal of this initiative was to create a place for young choreographers to showcase their creativity and share their art in a professional, constructive environment.  Choreographers and dancers from the region submitted their works in November, 2015.  Fifteen pieces were selected as finalists to perform in the showcase.  Showcase judges Dacia Biletnikoff, Gino Platina, Carly Giroux and Tanisha Reshke had a difficult task in deciding who would take the top three spots.  Results are below.
