Lauren began her dance training in Folsom, California in ballet, jazz and hip hop at Hawkins School of Performing Arts. Eager for a change after dancing on a hip hop team for 3 years, Lauren tried a jazz and contemporary class with Jake Gutierrez-Montoya and fell in love with the styles. She joined Jake’s new company Hawkins Contemporary Jazz Company her freshman year of high school and continued on until her senior year. While on HCJC, Lauren worked with choreographers such as Norbert de la Cruz III, Francisco Gella, Peter Chu, Jason Martin, Teddy Tedholm and Kendra Bracy. She has participated in the Palm Desert International Choreography Festival in Palm Desert, CA for the past three years and was one of the dancers in the 2015 winning dance Juliet and 2017 winning dance Glory both choreographed by Jake Gutierrez-Montoya. Lauren is pursuing her education at Folsom Lake College and couldn’t be more excited to grow as a dancer and person during her first year on SCDT!
