ALY HOMEN
Aly began dancing at the age of three, taking ballet classes at Roseville School of Dance. She attended a few different studios growing up, always seeking the training that soothed her soul as well as developed her technique. As a child and teenager, she regularly attended conventions and competitions, and in her senior year of high school, she was deemed “Miss Dance Spirit” at Starbound National dance competition. Her love for the art drove her to move to Los Angeles, and for two years she studied dance at Santa Monica College. During this time, she gained a heightened awareness of the importance of intention, and grew significantly as an artist. Aly’s love for her family and home brought her back to Northern California, and she currently attends California State University, Sacramento as a Dance Major and teaches ballet, jazz, and strengthening classes at Hawkins School of Performing Arts. Her passion is fueled by collaboration and community, and she is ever grateful for the opportunities life presents to her.
"I am so honored to be a part of Sacramento Contemporary Dance Theatre, a brand new nonprofit company based out of Folsom. Our artistic director and choreographer, Jacob Montoya, is without a doubt one of the most talented artists I'll ever know. There are no words to express the gratitude I have for opportunities like this, taking our passion and using it to make the world a better place."
